Closing Date: Until Filled Shift: ALL Security Clearance:No Clearance SUMMARY Responsible for operations, procedures, systems, techniques, and equipment related to robotic/hybrid laser welding. Lead and manage robotic/hybrid laser welding operations Coordinates with Steel production and works effectively with regulatory bodies and customer representatives. Reports directly to the Assistant Manager of the Thin Plate Panel Line. Supervises various trades as required. Maintains internal contact with Yard Maintenance, Engineering, Welding Engineering, vendors, subcontractors, customer representatives, regulatory agencies and classification societies. SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
PHYSICAL DEMANDS Work occurs in both an outdoor shipyard environment and in an office setting.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus. Additionally, position requires the ability to distinguish color Regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, operate computer keyboard and controls, and communicate verbally and in writing. Requires ability to commute physically to various areas of the shipyard including but not limited to shipboard activities. Must be capable of ascending/descending stairs or ladders, walking on uneven surfaces, and transiting through manholes and other confined, congested spaces. Physical dexterity must allow for bending and reaching. Position requires employees to carry, raise, lower, push or pull objects up to 25lbs. Must remain alert and comply with all safety requirements. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is exposed occasionally to dust, fumes, and smoke. Must be able to spend up to 50% of time in an outdoor shipyard environment in all climates. The noise level is relatively low to moderate in office environments. The noise level in the outdoor shipyard production environment is moderate to noisy 70% of time which may include sirens, horns, chipping, and hammering. PAY SCALE I $74,500 - $97,500 II $83,400 - $118,200 III $112,200 - $145,200 This pay range is a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role. It takes into account the wide range of factors considered in making compensation decisions; including but not limited to skill sets, experience, training, and education.
