Job Summary
The General Superintendent II: Capital Projects is primarily responsible for assisting the Project Manager with overseeing field crews/equipment, interacting between Matrix personnel, QC / QA, HSE and the customer. Assisting with training, hiring, testing, cost analysis/forecasting and scheduling.

Essential Functions

  • Actively demonstrates and supports the Company's commitment to safety and its "Core Values."
  • Represents the Company at all times with high moral standards while adhering to the Company's "Code of Business Conduct and Ethics."
  • Performs system verification on completed systems to assure correct installation per design specifications.
  • Reviews NDE reports at jobs to ensure that all code and customer requirements have been met.
  • Assists in planning work schedule, determining manpower levels, material quantities and equipment requirements.
  • Supervises craft workers assigned to area of responsibility, provide liaison between field engineering and crafts to ensure construction complies with drawings and specifications.
  • Monitors work performance and productivity of crafts to ensure project rules, procedures and safety requirements are maintained.
  • Advises senior level superintendents and/or project management of potential problems, work interferences, and schedule difficulties; assists in resolving such problems, as required.
  • Ensures all company, department and technical policies, procedures and standards, are adhered to. Interpret policies, as required.
  • Performs additional responsibilities, as directed.


Qualifications

  • 7 years refinery field experience.
  • 3 years in supervisory role required, 5 years preferred
  • Knowledge of piping design, fabrication, testing, and inspection.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of API standards, preferred.
  • Ability to work with other Matrix personnel departments, such as Operations, Project Management, Engineering, and Safety to assist in resolving issues.
  • Knowledge of ASME pressure vessels and repair experience required.
  • Knowledge of piping and welding codes and standards required
  • Occasional travel may be required.



Full range for this position, available over time: $66.12 to $73.83 per hour
