Job DescriptionPosition Overview: This position requires a thorough knowledge of the Two-Step Blow Molding, EBM, IBM and ISB process and its related platforms. Experience and knowledge in the areas of tooling, quality, and process development is a must. This position and will require the Process Engineer to work a varied and as needed schedule. An explanation will be provided by the Production Manager and/or Human Resource Manager during an interview. Essential Responsibilities and Duties Abides by all Amcor's Safety & Quality policies and procedures. Has authority to stop machines/production to communicate safety, quality, machine problems, and breakdowns to Production Supervisor or Management representative. Develop and maintain Best in Class Processes. Develop machine criteria for plastic processes. Perform start ups of new equipment, tooling and processes Produce sample products as necessary with NPD support. Optimize process parameters based on product performance. Establish process control parameters Support and establish machine process parameters to achieve optimum quality containers. Work with QA to measure containers to confirm physical characteristics and establish performance capabilities. Responsible for communicating quality and/or required equipment maintenance issues to management for prompt disposition as needed or advised. Recommend design modifications and process improvements if required to meet the Tentative Performance Specifications. Prepare final report including: Process Set up Sheets and recommended Process Control Parameters. Share plastic processing and mechanical knowledge with machine operators and maintenance personnel at all levels to provide continuous training and promote teamwork. Share Best in Class data with other Amcor manufacturing facilities as necessary. Supports Amcor by conducting tests and trials on containers or processes. Start up and validate of new products. Visit customers to validate container functionality, as necessary Must work with Production Manager and corporate office to establish a repeatable process for containers. Continuously improve process related trouble shooting tools. Drive and assist in the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Work Instructions (WI). Schedule training classes for operators to inform and teach SOP's and WI's. Audit the process and the structure. Provide leadership and direction to operators in establishing and maintaining processes and driving continuous improvement. Schedule and conduct training classes to enhance the knowledge of operators, Supervisors, Managers, and/or customers. Test the trainees to insure they have obtained sufficient knowledge to operate the extrusion equipment safely and with a high degree of success. Maintain & control production tooling. Coordinate with mold shops regarding cleaning, repairs, and modification. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Experience 1 -3 years of operating Sidel Blow Molding, EBM, IBM and ISB machines, engineering and/or maintenance experience. Possess a mechanical, technical, and process aptitude. Education Bachelor's Degree in engineering is preferred. Level of Authority and Authorization You have the right to hold for inspection; any product you feel does not meet customer/company specifications.
