Position Summary: The Fabrication Team Leader is responsible for processing materials to be fabricated to finished process through sawing, lathing, milling, drilling, CNC, and forming to either be sent to welding, assembly prep, shipping or assembly. The Team Leader will assist with the scheduling and planning of project thru the fabrication process. Team leader will work with Weld, Paint, and Assembly team leads to ensure the continuous movement of projects as needed to internal customers. Major Responsibilities: * Establishes and develops back-up group leader for the fabrication area to help manage day-to-day activities in group leader's absence. * Studies fabrication job packet for accuracy, notifying appropriate individuals of errors. * Studies blueprints to establish logical fabrication sequence. * Responsible for directing a team of individuals working on fabrication for jobs. * Assists in the fabrication of assigned jobs. * Performs spot inspections throughout fabrication process to assure product is being fabricated correctly the first time and that the job is on schedule according to establish due dates. * Prepares accurate updates for the production schedule and notifies other members of production meeting of any issues and concerns. * Ensures QIK forms have complete information and are filled out accurately. * Maintains a clean and organized work area. * Ensures proper and accurate completion of labor reports, material issues, kit lists, scrap reports and material moves. * Conducts safety training for shop associates. * Orders tooling and supplies for department. * Responsible for cycle counts on material for production and inventory control. * Tracks, monitors, and provides immediate feedback on employee performance. * Performs all other duties and responsibilities, as required. Required Education / Experience / Skills: * Supervise/manage/direct the selection, training, development, appraisal and work assignments of personnel. Direction: receive guidance with respect to general objectives in the majority of tasks and projects assigned, determine methods, work sequence, scheduling, and how to achieve objectives of assignments. Operate within specific policy guidelines. * High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Or one to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. 2-3 years of experience. * Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. * Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. * Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. * Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc. * Handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Travel: Minimal overnight travel (up to 10%) by land and/or air. Language: English
