Shipping and Receiving Clerk

This position is responsible for performing various duties and activities required to support the shipping and receiving function within Warehouse Operations. Job duties include tracking inventory, keeping accurate records, packaging and weighing items, printing shipping labels and postage, inspecting goods received for damage, and distributing products to other departments.

Responsibilities:

  • Receiving - promptly receive incoming shipments, open boxes, check for damage, ensure proper quantities received, make entries and transfers in the computer, see that items get to their required destination.
  • Shipping - box, label, and ship outgoing items. Track, trace and update the status of incoming and outgoing shipments. Prepare documents for freight movement, including hazmat materials.
  • Keep the shipping area organized and FOD free.
  • Repack to downsize, change packaging, or move packages to a new location to fully utilize existing warehouse space.
  • Support the o-site storage facility.
  • Maintain inventory of warehouse materials and supplies.
  • File shipping documents per established procedures and guidelines.
  • Support warehouse operations.
  • Perform any other tasks directed by Management to satisfy company objectives.
  • Willingness to assist in other areas of the business as needed.

  • Must be detail oriented and able to research and resolve discrepancies.
  • Must be organized, capable of multitasking and setting priorities.
  • Solid communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate across all functions and with all levels of the organization.
  • Must be self-motivated, ambitious and able to work within a team environment

Education & Experience/Other

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 3 years of prior shipping, receiving, and inventory experience.
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of UPS/FedEx shipping software.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US. Visa sponsorship not available.
