Title: Environmental Technician Location: Vernon, CA 90058 Duration: 8 months Shift Timing: 6 am-4 pm Pay Rate: $25/hr. on W2 without benefits Job Description: This site provided is the field office where personnel meet every morning at 6 for a tailgate meeting and then disperse to other locations. Interviews Required - via phone and/or Teams. Role & Responsibilities: Performs non routine and occasionally heavy labor tasks related to onsite industrial waste, hazardous waste, field environmental surveys or operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment facilities. Collects samples and maintains documentation in record logs. Operates trucks, pumps, vacuum equipment, oil booms, generators, and other machinery/equipment. Establishes and maintains appropriate logs of activities. Tests, calibrates, repairs, and modifies control and instrumentation systems at onsite locations. Many assignments are completed independently. Gives leadership and guidance to lower level Technicians assigned to the same unit. Prepares periodic or one of a kind reports of various activities and findings. May initiate reports and/or establish and maintain logs and records. Reports may be for individual activity or summary of group activities. Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate. Education/Experience: Associate's degree in a related field and 4+ years of experience Completion of a 40 hour OSHA training course is nice to have Appropriate operator certification may also be required. Proficiency in performing Technician assignments and responsibilities, as well as tasks and testing techniques related to operations.
