This role works directly with the Patient Support Manager, other departments within Revenue Cycle and NLH Practices to provide support in an effort to operate a "Best in Class" Revenue Cycle. Depending on the area, an individual may perform any of the following tasks: Responsible for the self-pay collections processes in accordance with the regulatory and state laws. Collect, analyze and store data, use data to inform better decision making through the use of both static and interactive data tools, develop business cases, provide technical solutions to business problems, provide supporting information for business strategy, build and distribute operational reporting and productivity tracking, review processes for improvement, analyze & communicate data results, provide system and technical support, administer root cause & gap analysis, manage vendors and projects, diagnose and evaluate issues to provide corrective actions, and aid in system implementation and testing.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Provides excellent customer service via First Call Resolution as frequently as possible
  • Detailed knowledge of self-pay collections operations in a healthcare setting, multiple hospitals/physician practices preferred
  • Provides direct support for all NLH Practices in the research and root cause analysis to assist with resolving problems
  • Provides support for NLH practice point of service collections
  • Coordinates, prepares, and distributes reports, dashboards, and presentations
  • Provide day to day service level support to customers and other analysts
  • Provides support for inquiries or issues. Uses the Service Now Portal for requests
  • Aids in data interpretation, communication, and presentations as needed
  • Potential resource for implementations and testing efforts
  • Provides overall application and operational support as needed
  • Troubleshoot errors and issues that negatively impact application performance or net revenue
  • May perform other duties upon request

Required Qualifications:



  • 2+ years of progressively responsible experience in revenue cycle operations, customer service or a relatable field
  • Intermediate Excel skill level
  • Maintain and exhibit a current knowledge of profession, revenue cycle, regulatory issues and participate in continuing education
  • Demonstrated exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven ability to research, define, effectively communicate, analyze and problem solve trends within the Revenue Cycle for resolution
  • Demonstrated ability to understand the changing needs of the Revenue Cycle and utilize technological solutions to improve processes and systems
  • Proven ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure
  • Demonstrated ability to work in an environment of ever-changing priorities
  • Proven ability to effectively multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to take direction and constructive criticism and apply them to daily tasks

The hourly range for this role is $23.70 to $46.35 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
