Duties, Responsibilities & Other

KCI Technologies is seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater Engineer with experience in engineering studies, engineering design, regulatory/permitting process, and project management.

    Responsible for managing a team of engineers and designers to develop water/wastewater engineering designs for both public and private sector clients, including pump stations, gravity sewer lines, water distribution lines, water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, storage facilities, and other projects related to industry.
  • Oversee the entire project lifecycle, from the preliminary design visit and conceptual plans to zoning/planning coordination, permit documentation, and construction level design plans.
  • Partner with the Practice Leader to expand our workload by building and maintaining relationships with existing and new clients.
  • Other responsibilities include preparing preliminary engineering reports, basis of design reports, feasibility studies, project submittals, completing site visits as necessary, and working with the Project Assistant on project setup, billing, and closeout.
  • Responsible for creating accurate fee proposals, overseeing the project team, and ensuring adherence to project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • As a mentor and trainer, you will also be responsible for training and guiding staff to ensure project success.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 - 12 years of professional experience.
  • Appropriate professional certification preferred.
  • Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment. Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.

Performance Expectations

  • Serve as Project Manager and/or key Technical Support for water/wastewater treatment and conveyance projects
  • Plan, direct, monitor, and/or deliver all aspects of projects with high degrees of technical complexity from the concept stage through detailed design, construction services, and commissioning
  • Lead a multidiscipline design team to complete tasks within established schedules and budgets
  • Mentor and train staff
  • Develop and maintain customer relationships by soliciting monthly performance feedback, identifying client needs, and identifying the next project
