Responsibilities
Howmet is a world leader in the investment casting industry and is a leading supplier of superalloys, aluminum, and titanium components for aerospace, automotive, and commercial transportation applications. Our Wichita Falls location is on the front edge of the rapid growth in the aerospace and turbine industries. Nestled halfway between Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, our facility in Wichita Falls supplies jet engine components to some of the most trusted names in the Aerospace industry.
This position has responsibility for directing and controlling the quality and technical functions in Heat Treat and Grain Etch for compliance to internal and customer specifications. This involves overseeing inspections, training, performing audits, reviewing scrap, maintaining documentation, and acting as primary focal point for internal and external communication in the assigned areas. Performs highly complex tasks, working independently with little supervision to provide critical heat treatment for castings per Industry standards such as AMS2750, Customer Specification requirements and various Heat Treat furnace equipment training courses. Responsible for attainment of metallurgical properties often detectable only by destructive testing. Responsible for decisions during heat treat cycles to avoid scrap. This position is responsible for implementing and ensuring that all Wichita Falls Heat Treat and Grain Etch processes are performed in compliance with established methods, materials and equipment specifications and that best practices are implemented.
