What is the Opportunity?

This role will apply advanced, in-depth knowledge to lead analytics and Business Intelligence/portfolio insights supporting the needs of RBC Bank with a strong focus on portfolio and client analysis. The role will apply strong business acumen to surface relevant insights that help deliver targeted client solutions, business strategies and initiatives to enable premium to market growth. The role will serve as the data owner/steward for the SBL product ensuring data quality is upheld and reliable for business reporting and key decisions. The role will work in partnership with Technology, data custodian, to ensure data architecture and data operations meet business needs.

What will you do?

  • Leverage SQL, Tableau, Snowflake, Power BI and other analytic platforms to gather, clean and prepare data; develop key performance indicators; create dashboards/reports; and analyze trends to understand their analytical needs and deliver insights that drive results.

  • Developing and implementing framework for Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and Portfolio Limits

  • Representing the Securities-Backed Line (SBL) of Credit Business on the organization and architecture of business data for enhanced data and portfolio analytics.

  • Enhancing MIS environment to support active portfolio management which includes, but is not limited to: Policy Exception reporting, performance tracking, and Vintage analysis. Add industry and business intelligence to supplement data.

  • Responsible for providing reporting, statistical trends and analysis for Line of Business the business

  • Works closely with Management to support line of business strategy through insights derived from analytics and reporting.

  • Identifies performance trends and recommends initiatives to address weaknesses and leverage opportunities.

  • Execute deep dive analytics for areas within the dashboard or daily results relative to plan, forecast or targets.

  • As a data owner, assists Technology in maintaining and managing EODC Collateral Data model ensuring data sent downstream to sources such as Core, CITADL, Axiom for purposes of enterprise financial and RWA reporting are accurately meeting reporting needs

  • Work with Salesforce in maintenance and management of all Salesforce flows for the USWM business and ensure that all data is captured accurately and reportable by the business

  • Gathering and analyzing planned out-of-the-box product enhancements that may impact RBC Credit Branch systems, RBC Credit Branch data catalogue, and Operations

  • Work with business partner, internal stakeholders and outside vendors in the continuing improvements of business applications such as CoMs, CCMS, Creditlink, Collateral Manager etc and ensure all data is readily available for reporting

  • Review data discrepancies in business feeds and work with upstream and downstream partners in resolving.

  • Support the "story-telling" to ensure insights are delivered in a meaningful and relevant manner to key partners and stakeholders

  • Promote analytics across the enterprise to enable RBC to become a data-driven organization.

What do you need to succeed?

  • Experience in statistical analysis and complex data interpretation with the ability to present information and insights to all layers of the organization in a concise, clear, and timely manner.

  • Proven ability to sift through data, identify critical information, analyze, develop hypotheses, and make recommendations required.

  • Ability to develop strong partnerships across a multi-layered organization required.

  • Advanced SQL skills required. Experience querying big data environments preferred (e.g. Hadoop, Hive, Impala, Snowflake, Databricks).

  • Demonstrate in-depth understanding of all relevant business and SBL related operating systems (i.e. RIBS, CoMs, CCMS, Creditlink, Salesforce, Workflow Infinity)

  • Experience applying statistical techniques examples include - regression analysis, clustering, attribution models, decision trees, ensembles, etc.

  • Experience with a statistical languages (such as R, MATLAB, SPSS, SAS, Stata, etc.) preferred

  • Excellent task management capabilities to appropriately prioritize projects based on business impact and critical timelines

  • Experience in Product, Business Intelligence, and/or Marketing data analytics and mining.

  • Deep data mining and technical skills and experience translating data into consumable messages.

  • Superior and proven experience in the application of experimental design and statistical analysis of results coupled with strong understanding of technical skills in SAS, SQL, or Teradata.
