We are hiring a motivated Software Engineer (Level II) who is eager to learn and apply their technical skills with a commitment to quality and a passion for our mission and vision! This person will assist in the development of software systems, knowledge graphs, ontological models, data platforms, and infrastructure using languages such as Java, Python, Scala, and JavaScript.

As a Software Engineer, you will assist in the design, development, and deployment of applications and data ecosystems, working closely with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver effective solutions. You will contribute to software engineering best practices, helping to implement scalable systems that support our operations and drive efficiencies through advanced digital capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of front-end interfaces, data-driven applications, and back-end systems that integrate with other applications and data sources.
  • Develop and maintain robust API and gateway solutions for integration with platforms, databases, and external services.
  • Work under guidance to deploy applications within AWS containers, utilizing services like Amazon ECS, EKS, or Fargate.
  • Learn and use unit testing frameworks (e.g., JUnit, PyUnit, pytest) to ensure reliability and performance of APIs and applications.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and translate requirements into actionable software solutions and user-facing APIs.
  • Apply foundational software engineering practices for application development, focusing on code quality and maintainability.
  • Support in troubleshooting issues related to data pipelines, integration, and application performance.
  • Participate in version control, testing, and documentation of developed applications.
  • Stay current with new technologies and methodologies, contributing ideas for improvements and innovations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years software development experience
  • Understanding of front-end and back-end technologies, such as JavaScript (React, Angular, or Vue), Python, Java, or similar languages.
  • Understanding of database design and management (SQL, NoSQL).
  • Experience with cloud-based environments (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
  • Good problem-solving skills and willingness to learn about complex systems.
  • Familiarity with version control (Git), testing frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile development methodologies.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with technical and non-technical teams.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in aerospace or manufacturing industries.
  • Familiarity with modern data architecture and tools like Docker or Kubernetes.

Compensation Range for:

WA applicants is $121,323.00-$169,852.20

  • Required for Certain Job Profiles: Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or combination of power unit and trailer that meets or exceeds 10,001 lbs. and/or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce, may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including: Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification, Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing (CDL drivers only), vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training.
