*Please note this position does require someone to sit onsite at our distribution center in Brantford 3 days a week.

Purpose:



  • Supports the HR Team for Global Functions in providing professional level HR support to the Global Functions Line of Business (LOB) in the areas of employee relations, performance management, and compensation. Partners closely with assigned managers and employees to ensure HR programs and strategies are implemented and supported thoughtfully and in accordance with adidas policies.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Establish HR as a trusted business partner and ensure HR initiatives, programs, and policies are fully understood and implemented thoughtfully within the LOB.
  • Assists Sr/HR Managers in structuring and developing their respective teams to maximize performance and employee engagement. Coach managers on talent management and how to best motivate and challenge all members of their teams, (from high performers to under performers) to ensure employee performance, engagement, and accountability.
  • Supports Sr/HR Managers with topics including but not limited to: compiling reports, system updates + accuracy, managing employee records, and general administrative support
  • Assist and coach employees to help them navigate job issues, career development and answer general questions regarding HR programs and policies.
  • Address employee relations issues as both a management coach and employee advocate. Apply effective mediation and problem-resolution with a solid understanding of company policy and practice. May assist with and provide input into especially high-level or sensitive employee relations matters, such as terminations and investigations.
  • Support talent identification and may assist line management and TA in interviews and selection process for respective management levels. Participate as team member on multi-disciplinary projects that utilize various parts of the HR organization including Global HR, Recruiting, Compensation, Benefits, Development and Training to achieve the project's objectives.
  • Partner closely with assigned LOB and Rewards to write and evaluate job descriptions. Confirm all positions have been appropriately evaluated using Global Salaried Management System (GSMS), are consistent with similar positions in other regions and across LOBs.
  • Support with LOB on compensation issues and provide guidance to confirm internal equity and appropriateness of the action.
  • May assist in the execution of the HR responsibilities related to our GBS OWM processes to ensure accurate organizational set up and data integrity within our SAP systems.
  • Work closely with HR Services to confirm SAP is up to date regarding employee personnel data and organizational structure changes. Provide feedback to HR Services for SAP data entry and report generation.
  • Ownership of the employee life cycle, including: Onboarding, New Hire Orientation (NEO), Resignation/Retirement, and Offboarding
  • Identifies potential areas for improvement in workflow processes and proactively develops solutions to improve them for the HR organization.
  • Other duties as assigned by HR Leadership.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:



  • Ability to establish a strong rapport and professional credibility with management and employees.
  • Ability to objectively coach and deliver constructive and difficult messages to employees and management on day-to-day topics as well as moderate complexity, difficult, and emotional issues.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information in a professional manner within the HR framework.
  • Must have the ability to learn and possess strong conflict management skills.
  • Ability to perform and deliver against the competencies within the Global HR Functional Success Profiles for the respective grade level.
  • Strong team player with the ability to work with diverse groups of people in a productive manner.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • HRIS experience, SAP a plus.
  • Ability to use MS Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge and familiarity of local, provincial, federal employment law.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to offer solutions, provide advice and drive resolution on people related matters.
  • Customer oriented, approachable with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to present HR information to large groups (announcements, huddles, NEO's, etc.)


Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:



  • Post-secondary education in an HR-related field or equivalent combination of education/experience
  • Minimum 2 years of related experience, in an HR Generalist role preferred
  • Experience with employee relations and leading investigations preferred
  • Experience in a high volume, fast paced work environment an asset
  • Thorough understanding and working knowledge of employment legislation across Canada
  • Previous experience working with an international business/organization preferred


Health & Safety Duties and Responsibilities:



  • The following are the duties and responsibilities of all adidas Canada full-time, seasonal-temporary and Fixed-Term workers:
  • Keep workplace safe and orderly.

  • Work in compliance with the provisions of the Act and the Company safety policies.
  • Report to Supervisor / Manager the absence of, or any defect in, any equipment or protective devices of which s/he is aware, and which may endanger her/himself or another worker; and also, any hazard of which s/he knows.
  • Not use or operate any equipment, machine, device or thing or work in a manner that may endanger him/herself or any other worker, nor engage in any prank, contest, feat of strength, unnecessary running or rough and boisterous conduct.
  • Know and employ established rules and procedures for handling hazardous materials, equipment and processes.
