Maine* state licensure to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Masters Social Worker - Clinical Conditional (LMSW-CC), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor - Conditional (LCPC-c), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist - Conditional (LMFT-c)is required

* New Hampshire Licensed Independent Clinical Social Workers (LICSW) -assistance may be offered in acquiring a Maine license.

Summary

Are you ready for a change? Looking to become part of a multidisciplinary team focused on providing holistic care to patients? Interested in bridging together medical care and behavioral health care? Consider a role as a behavioral health clinician integrated into a primary care setting. This is a 40 hour position with benefits, located in MaineHealth Sanford Pediatrics, a well-established practice offering complete care to the pediatric population. This practice is well versed in integrating behavioral health into the patient experience. They value the partnership with behavioral health clinicians and work collaboratively to optimize patient outcomes. Being integrated into a practice reduces stigma for patients, increasing their willingness to participate in care.

The clinician's role includes providing screening, assessments, and focused brief treatment to patients of the practice. Treatment structure includes individual, family, and group work. Additional functions of the role includes providing curbside consultation to providers, linking patients to additional services and supports, and participating in population health activities that targets the health and wellbeing of specific groups of people. Persons interested in this position must be comfortable working with pediatric patients. Knowledge of and interest in treating substance use disorders is preferred.

Your work is enhanced by being part of larger team with solid experience in integrated work. Collaborative work with psychiatrists and other integrated clinicians in the MaineHealth system adds to the experience. Individual supervision, group supervision, psychiatry consultation, and quarterly trainings are benefits of this position.

Level I:The role of Behavioral Health Clinician I, working under a conditional license, involves providing comprehensive care and support to clients with behavioral health needs. The key responsibilities include conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and providing direct care through individual, group, and family therapy sessions. The counselor is also responsible for maintaining clinical records, collaborating with community providers, and participating in team meetings to ensure effective treatment and discharge planning. The Behavioral Health Clinician I will be under direct clinical supervision to work towards independent licensure.

Level II:The role of Behavioral Health Clinician II, working under an independent license, involves providing comprehensive care and support to clients with behavioral health needs. The key responsibilities include conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and providing direct care through individual, group, and family therapy sessions.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: Master's Degree in Social Work, Clinical Counseling, Addiction Treatment, or related field
  2. License/Certifications:Level I:LMSW-cc, LCPC-c, or LMFT-c from the respective licensing board of the State of Maine Office of Professional and Occupational Regulation (OPOR).Level II:Licensed LCPC, LCSW, or LMFT from the respective licensing board of the State of Maine Office of Professional and Occupational Regulation (OPOR)
  3. Experience:Level I:Behavioral health experience including internship prior to becoming a conditionally licensed clinician.Level II:At least two years of behavioral health experience including employment as a conditionally licensed clinician.
