Job Summary The People Generalist will be responsible for collaborating across the People team to provide a broad range of people related services and serves as a first point of contact for team members regarding policies, programs, and processes. This role provides process-related support for general people activities, including; onboarding, team member inquiries, relations, leave of absence and benefits administration. The role is integral to creating a positive team member experience and ensuring the people processes align with departmental and organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Onboarding Assist with the onboarding process to ensure that new team members have a smooth transition into the organization. Ensure data received from Application Tracking System (ATS) to HRIS is updated accordingly.
Offboarding Track and process exit of team members by coordinating with the leader and relevant departments (IT, People Team, etc.) Prepare Exit Paperwork, coordinate Exit Survey and Exit interviews, collect feedback. Maintain a record of offboarding activities to ensure accurate tracking and reporting for future reference.
Team Member Relations: Managing day-to-day People Operations, leading our People channels of communication inboxes. Serve as a point of contact for team member inquires and concerns, resolving issues as they arise. Consults and escalates to People Business Partners when needed. Partner with People Business Partners in supporting business operations Build strong partnerships across the organization to ensure successful collaborations with the People Team, team members. Support team member engagement initiatives and foster a positive workplace culture. Conduct and summarize pulse checks/focus groups with individuals or small groups
Performance Management: Assist with the administration of performance review, and goal setting processes. Support tracking of all performance management, assist with performance improvement plans and warnings.
Compliance/Audit: Ensure the organization complies with local, state, and federal employment laws. Maintain team member records electronically and via paper when needed, handle People audits, files, file requests, and generating ad hoc reports. Develop and manage Standard Operating Procedures for the People Team
Benefits Administration: Provide guidance and assistance to team members with benefits inquiries, including health insurance, retirement, and leave policies. Support Leave requests, providing team member and leader guidance and procedures on how to navigate full cycle of Leave from initiation to return to work. May assist as a liaison with third party leave management vendor, internal team members, leaders and people business partners. Partner with direct bill team to ensure correct premium deductions paid during a leave of absence. Perform monthly invoice reconciliation and submission process to ensure benefit elections align with carrier invoices and payroll deductions. Collaborate with the Benefits Manager to ensure the successful launch and execution of Annual Enrollment and Wellness programs, including communications, activities, and team member engagement strategies. Partner with the COBRA administration team to process and manage direct billing for eligible team members, ensuring smooth transitions for departing team members.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. 2-5 years of experience in HR or a related role. General knowledge of HR practices, employment laws, and regulations. General knowledge of Benefits administration General knowledge of Leave of Absence practices and laws. Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite with intermediate excel skills a plus. bswift experience is a plus HR or Benefits certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus. Prior employee relation skills, involuntary terminations and/or engaging in difficult conversations is preferred

Standard working hours are 8am-5pm Central Time, unless otherwise stated in the Job Description. In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base salary range for this position is $65,000-$80,000, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. If you are hired at bswift, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to those factors - we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future & continued salary growth. We also offer a generous compensation and benefits package!
