The Principal Software Engineer oversees a global team of engineers developing scalable, secure, stable, and high-performing global trade products. They create, prioritise, and execute product releases that enable our customers to leverage the ONESOURCE Global Trade and Reporting product to stay ahead of evolving regulatory challenges. In this role, you will be part of a strong technology team that places the customer at the center of its focus and delivers value promptly, simplifying global trade compliance for corporations contending with new ESG requirements and increased scrutiny over export controls. About the Role In this opportunity as Principal Software Engineer,you will:
Understands modern technologies and uses the central platform as a way to drive their adoption, where applicable, across our customer offerings Helps drive simplification and rationalization of technology building blocks across the portfolio by championing and enabling technology re-use Defines standards for product development to ensure all products meet requirements for reliability and performance Interacts and collaborates with other internal departments to formulate recommendations and actions Builds and tracks performance metrics and makes enhancements to existing metrics and reports Evaluate and assess necessary emerging technology capabilities to provide thought leadership for product strategy and vision Ensures the delivery of quality product releases and improved engineering standards throughout SDLC Advances our API agenda with both internal and external customers and partners Enables strong partnerships with key partners in the eco-system by driving modern integrations with their offerings, working alongside Integrations leader Sets appropriate non-functional focus based on business strategy and risk Promotes good engineering practices and appropriate focus on non-functional requirements Provides thought leadership on platforms, standards, tools, architecture patterns Keeps current on technology and architecture trends
About You You're a fit for the role of Principal Software Engineer if your background includes:
4+ Years of technical lead Experience: Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor IT teams. Experience in .NET Framework and modernisation of legacy applications to the modern technology stack. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strategic Planning and Vision: Ability to develop and execute long-term IT strategies aligned with business goals. Decision-Making and Problem-Solving: Ability to analyse complex issues, make informed decisions, and effectively resolve challenges. Team Leadership and Motivation: Ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing IT teams. Business Acumen: Understanding of business operations and how technology can drive efficiency and innovation. Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The base compensation range varies across locations.
For any eligible US locations, unless otherwise noted, the base compensation range for this role is $116,900 - $217,100.
This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance.
Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs.
