The full salary range is $90,100-$111,400. The expected salary range for this position is $90,000-100,000. Application Window Open date: February 4, 2025 Next review date: Wednesday, Mar 5, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Friday, Mar 7, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description The University of California, Irvine is seeking a part-time Associate Project Scientist to join an IES-funded research project on teacher professional learning in literacy. Initial appointment is for two years, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and availability of funding. Anticipated start date can be March 3, 2025, or a date afterwards, depending on applicants' situations. Responsibilities: The incumbent will serve as the project coordinator for the IES-funded project, Lit-Pro, led by Principal Investigator Young-Suk Kim at the University of California, Irvine. Responsibilities include organizing the project, planning and preparing for data collection, participating in data collection, and supporting the recruitment of schools, teachers, and students in elementary schools. The coordinator will work closely with participating teachers and school administrators and other partner organizations, oversee data entry and coding of various data types (including classroom observation data), and handle data cleaning and preparation. Additionally, the role involves training and mentoring undergraduate or research assistants, and assigning tasks to them and overseeing and supporting their work, supporting other project activities such as dissemination efforts, and collaborating with Co-PIs at other higher education institutions. Salary: The salary range is $90,000 - $100,000 annually plus benefits. Requirements: Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Education or a related field, with expertise in literacy development and interventions, quantitative methods, data processing and analysis, coding classroom observation data, and academic writing with publications in journals. Additionally, they should have post-Ph.D. experience leading large-scale research projects involving multiple partners and schools, collaborating effectively in teams, working with elementary school teachers and students, and successfully writing human subjects protocols.
