About the Role

The Maintenance Planner-Scheduler is responsible for planning and scheduling maintenance activities to ensure optimal equipment performance. This includes coordinating corrective maintenance, preventative maintenance, work order requests, equipment installation, and project-related work. Collaborates with maintenance and production teams to meet established quality standards and achieve objectives in Safety, Cost, and Delivery. Works closely with management to prioritize daily and weekly activities. Contributes to operational efficiency, brand identity, and the company's profitable growth.

What You Will Do
  • Maintains a maintenance log of preventative and corrective maintenance work orders and coordinates scheduling to ensure timely completion.
  • Oversees the management of the CMMS system and work order backlog to ensure efficient maintenance operations.
  • Tracks and reports KPIs related to maintenance activities and equipment performance.
  • Orders materials required to accomplish repairs to machinery and ensures proper tagging of repair items and scrap cost tracking.
  • Returns unused items to non-production stores and monitors monthly non-production stores purchases.
  • Identifies and addresses quality concerns, providing feedback to production, engineering, and quality control.
  • Ensures maintenance activities are conducted safely and efficiently while following all safety guidelines and rules. Proactively identifies and addresses safety concerns.
  • Tracks and plans corrective actions to minimize equipment downtime and meet operational efficiency goals.
  • Generates KPI reports and prepares One Point Lessons (OPLs) and Standard Operating Sheets (SOS) as needed.
  • Coordinates technical and powered equipment training sessions and maintains all related training documentation.
  • Assists with the planning and installation of new equipment, collaborating with engineering and external vendors. Sets up parts and manages equipment or engineering changes, including hardware, software, and documentation updates.
  • Updates and maintains technical documentation, including mechanical and electrical drawings and CAD files.
  • Supports quality investigations as needed and contributes to continuous improvement efforts.
  • Ensures compliance with IATF 16949, VDA 6.3 quality standards, and ISO 14001 environmental standards.
  • As necessary, performs other related duties of which the above are representative.
  • Performs all other related assignments (including special projects) as required in a professional and cooperative manner.
Qualifications
What You Need
  • Associate's degree or technical diploma highly preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required. Relevant college courses, technical training, or in-house seminars will also be considered.
  • Three (3) years of related experience at the professional level required. Background in supporting a highly technical automotive-related manufacturing environment is highly desired.
  • The preferred candidate possesses the experience and knowledge required to support continuous improvement activities within a maintenance & production department. The activities will lead to a highly effective, efficient maintenance & production team.
  • Understands and follows all standards of IATF16949 and VDA 6.3 quality standards. (training and awareness will be provided for those who are not familiar with these standards)
  • Understands and follows all standards of ISO14001 environmental standards. (training and awareness will be provided for those who are not familiar with these standards)

Work Environment

The work environment is primarily an automated manufacturing plant with a concrete floor and is characterized by some temperature extremes, moderate noise, and forklift traffic.
