Your Role on the Team Under the general direction of the Assistant Dean, the Director of Computing Support is responsible for all aspects of computing in the Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences (ICS). In consultation with faculty and staff, plan and oversee implementation of ICS computing and network strategies to support research, instruction and administration through the use of leading-edge computing and networking resources. Function as a resource for and promoter of IT policy compliance, including the areas of data protection and cybersecurity. Assess the physical, staffing and budgetary resources necessary to support computing and networking. Ensure that available resources are efficiently used to provide IT services to meet ICS computing needs. Provide technical advice and assistance. Oversee development of requirements, data system design, and internal network architecture. Determine requirements and design computer programs to facilitate advanced capabilities for School administration and instruction. Incumbent serves as ICS's Unit Information Security Lead (UISL) and as primary liaison with UC Irvine's Office of Information Technology (OIT) and other campus computing groups. Direct the ICS computing support team and coordinate efforts of all campus units supporting the School's IT environment.
