DLZ has Asbestos Inspector/ Environmental Analyst opportunities available in Michigan!

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with building inspection and the interpretation, application and enforcement of applicable codes and ordinances.
  • Complete asbestos and/or hazardous materials inspections and reporting.
  • Oversee and document asbestos and/or HAZMAT abatement operations
  • Complete post-abatement verification inspection and associated reporting
  • Environmental data management, compilation, and analysis.
  • Prepare samples for laboratory analysis, including Chain of Custody documentation
  • Speak with team members on a construction site, including the contractor and owner's representatives.
  • Communicate with all entities keeping everyone fully informed.
  • Maintain vehicles and equipment as required.
  • Understand and follow public health and safety requirements and the proper safety procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
  • High School Graduate or equivalent, with a 2 or more years of related experience
  • Current State of Michigan Asbestos Inspector License
  • Familiar with EPA and EGLE standards, specifications, and guidelines
  • Experience with air monitoring, lead assessment/risk analysis and other industrial hygiene practices is a plus
  • Experience with demolition projects is preferred
  • Ability to verbally communicate and relay accurate information
  • Computer skills required
  • Must have attention to detail
  • Valid driver's License and ability to pass MVR check required
  • Ability to frequently lift 50lbs
  • Ability to travel throughout the tri-state area
  • The Following Certifications are Preferred:
    • 40-hour HAZWOPER 29CFR 1910.120
    • 30-hour OSHA Construction Training Program
