General Summary
The Software QA Lead will develop and implement processes to ensure Penumbra products are as high-quality and bug-free as possible.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
*Develop and execute test cases, plans and procedures. *
*Assists junior level team members and reviews their work to ensure they are following proper standard QA procedures. *
*Select, manage, train and develop peers and junior team members. Establish objectives and assignments and provide ongoing feedback through performance reviews and development plans. *
*Acts as primary point of contact and oversees the work of all outside QA contractors and escalates critical issues in the software. *
*Works collaboratively with the Software R&D Engineering team and the Quality team to develop and enhance the QA processes where appropriate for Penumbra products. *
*Adhere to the Company's Quality Management System (QMS) as well as domestic and global quality system regulations, standards, and procedures. *
*Understand relevant security, privacy and compliance principles and adhere to the regulations, standards, and procedures that are applicable to the Company. *
*Ensure other members of the department follow the QMS, regulations, standards, and procedures. *
*Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications
Minimum education and experience:
*Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field with 5+ years of experience as a software QA tester, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Additional qualifications:
*Experience with software development required.
*Medical device, pharmaceutical, biotech, or other regulated industry experience desired.
*Ability to work in a fast-paced rapid-iteration environment.
*Ability to self-organize and prioritize work with excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
*Ability to work within a collaborative team environment.
*Strong troubleshooting and QA technical skills.
*Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
*High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
*Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Location and Salary
Alameda, CA
$108,000 to $151,000
Working Conditions
*General office environment
*Business travel less than 5%
*Requires some lifting and moving of up to 25 pounds
*Willingness and ability to work on site.
*Potential exposure to blood-borne pathogens
*Must be able to move between buildings and floors.
*Must be able to remain stationary and use a computer or other standard office equipment, such as a printer or copy machine, for an extensive period of time each day.
*Must be able to read, prepare emails, and produce documents and spreadsheets.
*Must be able to move within the office and access file cabinets or supplies, as needed.
*Must be able to communicate and exchange accurate information with employees at all levels on a daily basis.
