Laboratory Technician- Chemistry Location: Kingwood, TX Position Type: Long term contract (1 year to hire) The overall responsibility of this role is to conduct routine and non-routine testing related to petrochemicals, specialty chemicals, and polymers in support of manufacturing plants Principal responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Conduct analytical testing in support of business lines and production facilities to ensure that accurate and timely results are provided * Performing various wet chemistry and instrumental analyses on materials using methods/instruments such as ICP-OES, IC, moisture titration by Karl Fischer, viscosity, flash point, HPLC, GPC, GC, GCMS, NMR, SEM, XRF, XRD, * Performing routine calibration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance of laboratory instrumentation * Prepare reagents, solutions, and standards as required * General laboratory maintenance to ensure that the laboratory is in full compliance with all safety, environmental and health regulations and procedures Basic qualifications: * High School Diploma with at least with 5 years of analytical laboratory experience. * Strong commitment to safety * Good analytical and troubleshooting skills * Ability to complete assigned projects in a safe and timely manner * Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Preferred qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in chemistry or equivalent education * Minimum of 2 years of analytical laboratory experience * Experience working with hazardous chemicals * Ability to work with a diverse team including chemists, engineers, and R&D to ensure the best overall result After you have applied, download our Staffmark Group WorkNOW App to receive real-time job offers and apply for additional opportunities.
