About Salesforce

We're Salesforce, the Customer Company, inspiring the future of business with AI+ Data +CRM. Leading with our core values, we help companies across every industry blaze new trails and connect with customers in a whole new way. And, we empower you to be a Trailblazer, too - driving your performance and career growth, charting new paths, and improving the state of the world. If you believe in business as the greatest platform for change and in companies doing well and doing good - you've come to the right place.

Slack is looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to join our Core Mobile team.

In the Core Mobile team, we make Slack the best mobile app to get work done from. We understand the differences in how people work on the go and build our app to serve those users uniquely. We're a horizontal pillar containing both iOS & Android engineers serving our Core Product, Admin & Trust and Growth teams.

You'll help shape the engineering culture of the team, work closely with other managers and engineers in making trade-offs and building ambitious technical & product roadmaps, provide coaching for engineers, drive alignment between cross-functional stakeholders all while shipping features that not only delight our users but make them more productive as well.

Slack has a positive, diverse, and supportive culture-we look for people who are curious, inventive, and work to be a little better every single day. In our work together we aim to be smart, humble, hardworking and, above all, collaborative. If this sounds like a good fit for you, why not say hello?

What you'll be doing
  • Lead a team of engineers tasked with building the best mobile application to do work.

  • Focus on impact and moving the needle in tangible ways for customers.

  • Prioritize initiatives across 5 different sister teams.

  • Empower engineers to take responsibility while providing them an environment that allows them to do their best work.

  • Shape the technical goals of the whole team ensuring that they align with the goals of the larger organization.

  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment while coaching engineers in achieving their goals.

What you should have
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent training, fellowship, or work experience.

  • Familiarity working on products with diverse feature sets in horizontal team contexts.

  • Experience managing teams of iOS & Android engineers.

  • You are highly organized. With many people doing many things in a fast-moving company, strong organizational skills-both for yourself and for the team-will be required.

  • You are able to weigh several and often conflicting requirements and drive decisions in a fast-moving environment.

  • You are a compelling and clear communicator, able to represent your team to internal and external audiences with differing levels of technical fluency.
