Job Title: R&D Technician

Location: Onsite, Arden Hills

Employment Type: Contract with possible extension or temp-to-hire for the right candidate (budget permitting)

Interview Process: Teams video interviews

Job Purpose:

The R&D Technician will support R&D engineers and scientists by executing testing on medical devices under development. The role involves test method development, conducting bench tests, and summarizing results with minimal supervision, contributing directly to the advancement of innovative medical devices.

Key Responsibilities:



  1. Perform R&D bench testing independently, ensuring reliable and high-quality results.
  2. Follow written product test methods and verbal instructions to execute tasks accurately.
  3. Collaborate with engineering staff to develop R&D test methods and improve processes.
  4. Summarize experiment outcomes for engineers, including creating datasheets and organizing experiment data archives.
  5. Manage workload effectively while receiving direction from multiple engineers.


Quality Systems Responsibilities:



  • Ensure compliance with all quality requirements and integrate quality into all aspects of work.


Minimum Qualifications:



  • Education: AA degree or equivalent work experience in a related discipline.
  • Experience: 3+ years in a related field, preferably within a regulated industry.
  • Proficiency in performing product testing and documenting test results.
  • Strong technical writing skills for creating device test methods or build instructions.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience in the medical device industry.
  • Familiarity with test method development and validation.
  • SolidWorks certification for test fixturing design.
  • Basic skills in device failure analysis.
