Job Overview

The Electrical Technician role is essential in keeping Viracon's advanced production equipment running safely and efficiently. Technicians are responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems, equipment, and components in a high-tech manufacturing environment.

We're hiring at two levels:

  • Electrical B Technician - for experienced journeyman-level professionals
  • Electrical A Technician - for master-level or engineering-trained experts

Both positions play a vital role in ensuring smooth production, quick troubleshooting, and reliable operation of equipment that powers our glass manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams
  • Install, maintain, and repair wiring, controls, and lighting systems
  • Inspect and test electrical components such as transformers and circuit breakers
  • Identify problems using electrical testing devices and troubleshoot effectively
  • Repair and rebuild equipment to minimize downtime
  • Support a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement
Required Skills and Qualifications

Electrical B Technician

  • Two-year degree in electronics with 3+ years of electrical experience, OR 4+ years in a related field
  • Journeyman license

Electrical A Technician

  • Master electrician license OR degree in electronic engineering
Pay & Schedule
  • Pay: $31.00 - $33.15/hour (Depending on Experience)
  • Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday 12 hour shift 6 AM- 6PM
  • Opportunities for growth within Viracon and the broader Apogee family
Work Environment
  • Based in a large-scale manufacturing facility
  • Exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and dust from production processes
  • Regular interaction with machinery and moving equipment under strict safety protocols
  • Team-oriented environment with potential overtime, including weekends, based on production need.
