Job Overview

The Consumer Connections Manager has direct accountability for managing CCCI's major sponsorship asset properties. This role creates marketing plans according to a stated strategy, collaborates with the parent company (NAOU) on marketing activation, cultivates property relationships, works with the CCCI Commercial team on retail activation, and executes promotions both in and out of the venue. Overall, this role is accountable for managing the entire relationship, contract, and budget as outlined by contractual and department terms with the sponsorship property.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Creates and executes integrated marketing plans for each sponsorship property in and out of the venue. Clearly defines strategy objectives for CCCI and the sponsorship property based on the property type and target consumer
  • Cultivates primary relationships with each sponsorship property as the main point of contact for CCCI. Works closely with the property to execute the mutually agreed-upon marketing promotions in the plan. Meets regularly with sponsorship property and attends primary promotional events and games to ensure execution of programming
  • Collaborates with Commercial and Customer Account teams to plan, create and execute consumer push, pull promotions at retail tied to the sponsorship property. Works as the project manager on shared marketing programming by gaining property approvals, managing the creative process, working with Shopper Marketing or Customer team on retailer objectives, managing timelines, and offering regular status updates through completion of the planned program
  • Works with NAOU on all branded promotional activation to ensure brand guidelines are followed throughout the activation
  • Develops programming according to target consumer preferences and facilitates the program execution process through NAOU channels (creative, approvals, timing, promotional elements, etc.)
  • Communicates with the field about each promotional activation for a sponsorship property in their marketplace
  • Provides marketing plan, activation elements, timing, promotional material, etc to the field
  • Coordinates material delivery, execution expectations, customer opportunities, and any other relevant programming information to key stakeholders
  • Owns and manages marketing budgets for each sponsorship property. Meets regularly with Marketing Accounting to reconcile budgets based on contractual and activation spends
  • Works with sponsorship property and NAOU to align on funding for specific programs and elements within the property contracts
  • Adheres to an annual objective for budget spending
  • Manages special projects within the department
  • Researches, collaborates, and presents to team or manager regarding a topic relevant to marketing sponsorship

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Experience in any marketing field is appropriate. Preferred experience in marketing related to sports teams, sports leagues, account marketing within a marketing agency, college marketing, or brand marketing
  • Important skills include strong interpersonal relationship building, project management, marketing strategy, strong presentation ability, strategic thinking, problem-solving and managerial courage
  • This role requires experience, it is not an entry-level role
  • As the primary manager for our largest sponsorship properties, it requires experienced marketing associates with deep knowledge of marketing strategy

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (4 years inMarketing, Business, Communications, or Public Relations)
  • Knowledge acquired through 3 to up to 5 years of work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience inmarketing related to sports teams, sports leagues, account marketing within a marketing agency, college marketing, or brand marketing
