Aircraft Technology, Inc., (ATI), a subsidiary of HEICO Corporation, is an FAA/EASA Part 145 Repair Station. ATI supports a wide range of rotary and fixed wing components found on both commercial and military platforms around the world.

ATI is seeking a CNC Set Up Operator for a full time immediate direct hire in Hollywood, FL.

ROLE: The Machine Operator assists in the repair process of parts by operating mechanical equipment and maintaining tolerances to ensure quality.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:



  • Loads and unloads parts into CNC machines and runs pre-loaded programs.
  • Measure dimensions of finished workpieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments (ie calipers, micrometers, height gauge).
  • Removes and replaces cutting tools.
  • Monitors machines during operation, alerts supervisor to any issues, and makes simple adjustments to compensate for tool wear.
  • Stop machines to load workpieces and remove finished workpieces, change tooling and perform other activities according to required machining sequences.
  • Lift workpieces and fixtures to machines manually or with hoists or cranes.
  • Move material, tools, fixtures, and equipment as required.
  • Clean parts and move parts between stations.
  • Clean equipment and workspace.
  • Performs other duties, as required.


EDUCATION:



  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • May have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty.



EXPERIENCE:



  • At least 2 years of experience in the field or in a related area.



CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:



  • May be required to meet certain certifications in the field.



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS OR ABILITIES:



  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and mechanical documents.
  • Skill in operating tooling as well as precision measurement tools.
  • Should demonstrate a basic understanding of computer programming, Mastercam CAD /CAM, and Solidworks.
  • General knowledge of part fixturing and work holding.
  • Should be able to work as a team player, be self-motivated, have professional behavior, strong time management.
  • Willing to take additional responsibility comes with new opportunities based on business growth.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks at a time to meet delivery deadlines.
  • Being passionate about producing on time and doing a job right the first time.
  • A positive, enthusiastic, and confident attitude.

  • Language: Ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions; ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to use basic shop math.
  • Reasoning Abilities: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely.
  • Technical Skills: Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.



PHYSICAL DEMANDS:



  • While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, squat, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The Team Member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. It may work with toxic or caustic chemicals



WORK ENVIRONMENT:



  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and sometimes excessive.
