JOB SUMMARY: The Digital Communications and Marketing Coordinator creates and disseminates information that promotes the mission of Catholic Charities and publicizes its accomplishments to donors, volunteers, the Washington, D.C., community and public policy decision-makers. In collaboration with the chief communications officer, the position helps determine the most effective use of the website to promote the agency and its services. The position updates the website and designs materials for the web, designs print products such as fliers and advertisements and provides support for email communications. The position is part of an integrated communications-marketing team that supports fundraising and social service programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Contributes to the creation of information promoting Catholic Charities' compelling story as Washington's most comprehensive social service agency. Disseminates information across platforms, including website, newsletter, printed collateral and donor emails.
  • Supports the Catholic Charities brand by creating a positive experience for users of the website.
  • Updates the agency website to support fundraising efforts, special events and programs, and, in coordination with other Communications colleagues creates web content, including videos and articles.
  • Monitors effectiveness of website through Google Analytics and compiles metrics reports. Serves as a liaison with website vendor.
  • In collaboration with the Chief Communications Officer, designs and creates assets for use in print communications (such as fliers, advertisements, newsletter and graphics).
  • Helps take photos and video of events and program activities and helps manage photo and video archive.
  • Supports the dissemination of email communications to constituents.
  • Help with social media posts as needed.
  • Serves as the communication liaison to one of the Agency's departments to gather story ideas and work with other communications staff to develop and tell these
    stories.
  • Manages time and meets project deadlines.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.


EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:



  • Bachelor's degree in digital communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, graphic design or related field.
  • At least 1 year of experience with proven experience in a communications role and work on a website.


SKILLS and COMPETENCIES:



  • Proficiency with website publishing, preferably WordPress.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Video skills. Knowledge of video editing software such as iMovie helpful.
  • Writing skills, specifically in writing for the web. Proven design skills.
