Position: Warehouse Lead Location: Piedmont, SC, 29673
Essential Duties
- Leadership of warehouse team including training and coaching of warehouse staff to improve individual and group performance
- Responsible for day-to-day supervision of Warehouse.
- Delegates work & provides coaching, as directed
- Pulling customer pick tickets with accuracy
- Responsible for inventory controls such as, but not limited to, daily/weekly cycle counts
- Stage kits for production
- Responsible for order fulfillment and shipping accuracies individually and as a team
- Work with customer service, operations, and/or procurement teams to facilitate customer credits and vendor returns, including approving or denying
- Responsible for rectifying issues if in receipt of shortages or damages
- Proper maintenance and upkeep of inventory locations, inventory accuracy and organization
- Perform and or work with Warehouse Team in building maintenance projects, general upkeep and trash disposal.
- Assist or Lead Continuous Improvement, 5S and LEAN activities.
- Interacts with walk in customers, pick up or will call Customers.
- Assists with Responsive communication of any Warehouse related questions or issues to Salesman or Customer Service Management and staff.
- Assists to meet Monthly Goals on Operations Scorecard.
- Assists in maintaining, developing and daily implementation of procedures and process to ensure consistent and expected results.
- Responsible for building and equipment maintenance projects within scope of general upkeep, trash disposal, etc.
- Will be responsible for deliveries and will need to get DOT medical card within first 60 days of work.
- Assumes responsibilities of other warehouse associates in the event of PTO usage or unexpected absence.
- Any other tasks as assigned by manager/lead
Education and Experience
- Associate Degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or High School Diploma with two (2) years related experience; or relevant combination of education and experience
- Ability to lead a team; preferred prior leadership experience
- Ability to perform, or ability to quickly gain the knowledge of all base warehouse functions
- Proven experience in implementing operational processes
- Proven project management, administrative management, and organizational skills.
- Proven experience utilizing an ERP
- Preferred experience within an industrial distribution and/ or manufacturing environment
- Excellent customer relation and problem-solving skills
- Excellent leadership and decision-making skills
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Detail oriented,including accurate data entry skills
- Capable of working independently, as well as a team member
- Interact with co-workers with a positive attitude to maintain a friendly and productive work environment
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
- Ability to understand written and oral English and be proficient with computer, email, spreadsheets and look up documents online
- Ability to obtain commercial driver's license, if needed
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job
- Ability to work in environments that may include:
- Moving mechanical parts
- Fumes or airborne particles
- Painting chemicals and solvents
- Electrical equipment
Physical Requirements
- Sit/Stand for prolonged periods at a bench or table to package materials
- Handling and Moving Objects - Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things
- Manual Dexterity - The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
- Retrieving and / or filing documentation from other departments.
- Handling - moving, lifting (up to 70 lbs) parts to and from bench or cart.
