CAD Intern

NV5 is seeking a CAD/Revit Drafter Intern to work in our Walnut Creek, CA office. A position is available for civil, electrical or mechanical academic track individuals interested in exposure to the building/utility design and construction industry to gain drafting and engineering experience. The CAD/Revit Drafter Intern will collaborate with NV5 engineers in a multi-discipline team environment for design of utility and industrial/commercial power systems.

Responsibilities

Creating 2D drawings using AutoCAD/Revit software for Civil, Mechanical and/or Electrical engineering projects.
• Lay out engineering drawings using AutoCAD and Revit and draft the design under the supervision of an engineer, senior engineer, drafter or project manager.
• May perform field surveys to determine existing conditions.
• Other duties include cutting/trimming of plans, blueprint making, photocopying, plotting, scanning, packaging, mailing, and other miscellaneous duties which may be required from time to time to assist in the smooth operation of the firm.

Education

• Must be working towards a BS Degree in Engineering or a related field.

Required Skills and Experience

• Must have an understanding of the engineering principles.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills along with familiarity with Microsoft Products such as Excel and Outlook.

The pay for this California position is $21.00 per hour; however, base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
