Summary of Job Duties:The Little Rock Pubic Radio Membership Director oversees and manages all membership campaigns and fundraising efforts to maintain and expand the membership base of UA Little Rock Public Radio. The Membership Director reports directly to the General Manager and coordinates all efforts with the UA Little Rock Public Radio leadership team. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy. Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • Associate's degree plus two (2) years of experience in nonprofit development, membership, grant writing, for-profit sales, or other revenue-generating position.

Preferred Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field;
  • Three (3) or more years of experience in development, marketing, public relations, volunteer management, or a related field.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement on-air membership campaigns, special events, and community service projects;
  • Design and manage routine solicitations and specialized fundraising projects including but not limited to mid-level gift solicitation, capital campaigns, foundation grants, and planned giving solicitation campaigns by direct mail, email, social media, and telemarketing; and other fundraising projects;
  • Develop and manage donor recognition, gift acknowledgment processes, and member communications, including use of social media;
  • Host live fundraising breaks on the air and voice recorded announcements, as needed;
  • Plan, design and implement special events/projects that provide additional funding, heighten awareness of the stations and/or serve the community in a significant way;
  • Recruit, train and supervise staff and volunteers for membership and fundraising efforts and community outreach projects;
  • Serve as liaison with the Friends of KLRE/KUAR and its Board of Directors, including contacting members, scheduling meetings, helping recruit new Board members, coordinating committee work, and advising the Board;
  • Supervise database management, assuring that station leadership receives timely and meaningful reports;
  • Work with the station leadership team on strategic planning and setting station policies;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of philanthropy and fundraising principles;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously;
  • Experience in designing and directing events or campaigns;
  • Evidence of supervisory skills;
  • Familiarity with the use of social media for fundraising and outreach;
  • Affinity for public radio;
  • Ability to work occasional nights and weekends;
  • Ability to use a database management system;
  • Ability to work in a website content management system.
