Summary of Job Duties:The Head Cross Country Coach and Assistant Track & Field Coach will be responsible for the men's and women's distance and mid-distance athletes. This individual will provide coaching expertise, leadership, management that results in a positive and beneficial intercollegiate experience for the student-athletes. Qualifications:

Required Education an/or Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Education and/or Experience

  • Master's degree preferred;

  • Experience in Intercollegiate Athletics/Higher Education setting preferred;

  • Experience coaching distance/mid-distance at the NCAA level;

  • Experience recruiting student-athletes with outstanding academic and athletic accomplishments.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement performance plans for men's and women's distance and mid-distance athletes for cross country and track events;

  • Recruit and evaluate high caliber student-athletes in distance and mid-distance events;

  • Coordinate travel arrangements for cross country and assist with track & field travel;

  • Log recruiting activity in Teamworks (Compliance & Recruiting Platform);

  • Assist with oversight of student-athletes academic support;

  • Perform classroom checks as necessary;

  • Acting meet director for any home cross country or track & field competitions;

  • Ability to promote an atmosphere of Compliance with NCAA, Ohio Valley;

  • Conference and UA Little Rock rules/regulations/policies;

  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of NCAA, Ohio Valley Conference and UA Little Rock Regulations;

  • Ability to work nights and weekends with extensive travel.
