The Role:

As the Director of Revenue Cycle Services, Regional Business Partner (RBP), you will collaborate with PSJH leadership and the Revenue Cycle Regional Executive Partner to elevate our revenue cycle into a world-class operation. This is a pivotal role within one of the largest and most innovative health companies in the United States.

Based in our dynamic and fast-paced environment, you will:



  • Drive Strategic Change: Utilize data, analytics, and best-in-class technology to deliver significant revenue uplift. You will be accountable for achieving revenue cycle performance goals and financial targets, enhancing revenue yield for your assigned region.
  • Build Effective Partnerships: Foster collaborative relationships with regional leadership and enterprise shared services, including finance, reimbursement, payer contracting, IT, legal, and compliance.
  • Champion Best Practices: Continuously evaluate and improve end-to-end revenue cycle processes, maintaining best practice standards and ensuring service and quality commitments are met. Keep key stakeholders informed on performance metrics and factors influencing them.
  • Leverage Industry Expertise: Stay abreast of industry trends and regulatory requirements, bringing considerable expertise in payer contracts to the table.
  • Inspire and Mentor: Lead by example, fostering a mission-driven culture that embodies PSJH's core values of compassion, dignity, justice, excellence, and integrity. Inspire and mentor your team and cultivate critical relationships with executives to drive operational outcomes in your assigned region(s).


Core Responsibilities:



  • Serve as the Revenue Cycle (RC) representative on local regional leadership committees and as the primary point of contact for communication between acute ministries and RC.
  • Develop and implement a revenue cycle strategy that supports the aims of the ministry or market, working closely with Chief Financial Officers and other regional leaders.
  • Achieve performance metrics and share timely revenue cycle management information, trends, and opportunities.
  • Provide RC support to Community Connect, Affiliates, managed acute facilities, and physician and ambulatory enterprises.
  • Maintain open communication with the reimbursement team, payer contracting, financial planning and analysis, and operational and administrative leadership of assigned ministries.
  • Ensure issues raised by ministries are addressed and resolved effectively.


Essential Functions:



  • Performance Reporting: Drive performance by reporting on metrics, focusing on revenue leakage, and telling the story behind the data.
  • Denials Management: Lead denials management committees and drive process improvements.
  • Trusted Advisor: Identify and resolve issues, manage crises, lead special projects, and support RC governance processes.
  • Connectivity: Serve as the connection point between regions, revenue cycle, and shared services, driving system-wide performance.
  • Revenue Recognition: Ensure accountability and provide feedback to improve collections, focusing on payment variances and month-end analytical reports.
  • Data Collaboration: Partner with data and analytics teams to build robust reporting for CFOs.
  • Regional Representation: Represent RC on leadership committees, helping ministries adopt common standards and practices while advocating for necessary variations and best practices.
  • Strategic Guidance: Establish relationships with CFOs, provide revenue cycle guidance, and update RC leadership on ministry concerns and strategic plans.
  • Professional Engagement: Participate in professional activities to stay informed about healthcare trends and changes.
  • Mission-Driven Culture: Incorporate PSJH's mission and core values into daily activities, demonstrating service excellence and positive interpersonal relations.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, or equivalent education/experience required.
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, or a related area preferred.
  • 8 years of overall experience with 6 years of progressively responsible experience in healthcare administration/operations, emphasizing management or business/account management.
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to influence others and follow through on issue management.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and planning abilities, with a talent for managing time and achieving results in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to present complex data and identify business solutions.
  • Detailed understanding of revenue cycle concepts and issues.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, complex, and dynamic environment.
  • Expertise in reviewing revenue cycle reports and communicating improvement opportunities.
  • Skills in facilitation, negotiation, meeting management, training, and quality analysis.
  • Ability to develop, direct, motivate, and gain commitment from peers and management.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform in alignment with company mission and values.
  • PC proficiency in MS Windows and Office applications, including MS Project.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA rules and regulations.
  • Flexibility to work variable hours and travel as needed for business purposes.
