Plans, organizes, directs, and controls all service line activities involved in the effectiveness, efficient, and economical utilization of material resources and personnel of the delegated service line, ensuring patient service is continuous and high quality. Responsible for orientation, training , development, and management of service line personnel. Relates effectively with Perioperative team members for continuity of care; maintains satisfactory relations with other departments and nursing units, and participates in all phases of education. Promotes increased case volume through provision of a highly effective service line, intraoperative program, development of positive relations with surgeons with responsible area, and implementation of new surgical procedures. Assists Director and AVP of Perioperative Services with financial management by acquiring and maintaining knowledge and skills on budget strategies to maximize use of resources within a cost effective framework. |

Qualifications: Required:
- Current New Jersey License. Bachelor s degree required, or in pursuant of
Current BLS Heart Saver/Health Care Provider Certification. - Five years OR experience required.
- Certified Nurse in the Operating Room (CNOR) certification required within one year of hire.
- Successful completion of all Orientation Programs and Documentation.

Essential Functions:
- Meets requirements as defined be applicable Department Specific Competency Checklist.
- Ability to direct others and negotiate for desired results.
- Ability to work well as part of the leadership team. Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrates decision making and problem solving skills.
- Knowledge of administration, budgeting principles, and personnel management.
- Clinical competency in OR. Demonstrates knowledge of computers.
- Maintains positive relationships with all customers, employee, physician, patient, visitor, and guests
- Utilizes a variety of feedback to improve processes and services to meet and exceed customer needs
- Uses sound employee relations practices and maintains high levels of visibility and accessibility
- Follows though on all customer requests and inquiries in a timely fashion.
- Identifies and coordinates the need of service line physicians through scheduled meetings. Ensures that service line preference cards are maintained and upgraded in a timely fashion.
- Coordinates with OR Director to make daily room assignments appropriate to the skill level of service line team members.
- Coordinates with Materials Management and Central Sterile Department, service needs and issues.
- Supports and enforces infection control policies and procedures. Participates in hospital safety programs. Demonstrates/states hospital and departmental policies and procedures and applies consistently. Maintains regulatory readiness. Performs all assignments assigned.
- Manages the service line s day to day clinical operations including practice standards staffing, budgets, fiscal management, and quality improvement. Manages, plans, and monitors service line activities.
- Provides direct patient care as needed, to include giving breaks and lunch relief.
- Facilitates and controls the turnaround time s process through OR staff utilization coordination.
- Collaborates with service line team members to ensure all necessary equipment and supplies are available for their service line cases across the shifts.
- Identifies and coordinates educational needs of services line team members with OR educator through scheduled in-service.
- Develops orientation program for the service line team members. In conjunction with Department of Education, maintains competency records for service line personnel.
- Develops and implements action plans to improve staff development.
- Balances professional and personal pursuits. Demonstrates principles of self care and supports members of the health care team in self care practices.
