Purpose

Is highly experienced in Service, customer service and meter reading activities. Performs all of the standard and some specialized aspects of Service department functions. May serve in a lead role in certain functions where general guidance and training of less experienced support personnel is needed. Performs such work in accordance with Company, regulatory and safety procedures. May be responsible for performing these duties on transmission and distribution systems and facilities, as applicable. Independently responsible for field activities for both residential and commercial customers on transmission and distribution systems and facilities, as applicable. Performs such work in accordance with company, regulatory and safety procedures. On Call responsibilities required.

Accountabilities

All Utility Tech , Apprentice Service Tech & Service Tech 1 Responsibilities

  • Utilities Tech Responsibilities
  • Meter Reading & Re-reads orders. Disconnects, Paint meters, Service and construction helper, Atmospheric corrosion
  • Complete all safety related training, change index and meter glass, complete electronic orders and Locate(Damage Prevention)
  • Observes and reports all abnormal, dangerous and/or damaged conditions pertaining to gas meters and adjacent areas.
  • Apprentice Service Tech Responsibilities
  • Service Tech 1 Responsibilities - Installing meters and regulators
  • Residential and small commercial service activation
  • Replacing service valves
  • Minor Appliance repair and adjustments
  • All Service Tech 2 Responsibilities - On Call , First responder (Leaks, CO, NGLP, ect.)
  • Responding to customer concerns, Leadership Training & Leak Surve

Operations

  • Training of Junior Personnel
  • NEWC (Large Commercial / Elevated pressure)
  • May plan, monitor, coordinate and inspect contractors to ensure compliance with Federal, state and local codesand regulations as well as Company policies, procedures and standards.
  • Demonstrates support for and adheres to the Company's values, strategies, policies and procedures andexhibits the core values of Liberty Spirit, Customer Service, Safety and the Company's Code of Conduct both asan individual contributor, team member and/or leader of others.
  • Must become familiar with the contents of the Safety Manual, live by the spirit of its intent and become involvedin creating and maintaining a safe working environment. Must complete all required safety training.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
  • High school or GED equivalent
  • Basic Job Knowledge - specialized knowledge of specific commercial, technical, trades, or office operations areas
  • 5 years total natural gas service experience.
  • Must have and maintain minimum Operator Qualifications (OQs) and classroom training for position.
  • Must have obtained Sr. status in Service.
  • Requires a valid driver's license in accordance with Company standards.
