Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit |
The Jeanne Tannenbaum Center for Creative Practice (
JTCCP) is an innovative programming and collaboration space for
UNCG faculty, students, visiting creatives, and residents of the nearby Greensboro neighborhoods to create, learn, share, and connect. Programming at the
JTCCP, including a creative-in-residence program, provides a "third space" for impactful campus and community partnerships through innovative residencies (create), programming (share), collaborative knowledge creation (learn), and leadership development (connect).
The
JTCCP is the first new building of UNCG's Millennium Campus initiative and sits at the physical intersection of its two corridors: a health and wellness corridor along Gate City Boulevard, and a visual and performing arts corridor along Tate Street. The facility is currently under design with Perkins & Will architects and scheduled to be complete in spring 2026. The 12,000-square-foot center is flexible to accommodate different creative practices and include maker spaces, several studios, a light-filled community gathering hub and an outdoor hub, a learning lab, and an immersive black box studio equipped with technology to facilitate innovative collaboration. The
JTCCP provides a home base and internship opportunities for UNCG's undergraduate students. |
