Lab Technician

Location: Bartlesville, OK

Contract: 6 months (could extend)

Pay: $25-32 /hr

Description:

We are seeking a temporary contractor as a Laboratory Technician. This role involves the use of analytical instruments as well as handling chemical and material/plastic samples. Daily responsibilities can vary depending on need, and will include but are not limited to: preparing and running samples for AFM, FTIR, Raman, DSC, DMA, TGA, and HPLC/MS, collecting and organizing data, and sharing data with internal customers. Employee should be positively safety minded with all aspects of their work. Stop Work responsibility is an expectation of employment.

Responsibilities:



  • Follow standard operating procedures and fully comply with site safety, environmental, health and security procedures
  • Prepare samples and run testing on samples
  • Collect and organize data to share with customers, some data analysis may be required based on need
  • Organize and inventory samples and data



Qualifications:



  • High school diploma with >1 year experience in an analytical or research lab
  • OR bachelor's degree, preferably in a science-related field (i.e. Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, etc.)
  • Ability to work independently after initial training
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills: must be able to work well with team members and researchers
  • Must have at least basic Microsoft skills, especially Word and Excel
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with reasonable accommodation



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience in one or more of the following techniques: HPLC, HPLC/MS, FTIR, Raman, DSC, TGA, HPOIT, optical microscopy, or microtomy
  • Experience in computer languages, especially Python
