Who you are:

As the QA/IT Manager for Johns Hopkins Health Plans, you will be responsible for overseeing the IT quality assurance for our health plan's technology systems and services. The ideal candidate will have experience in healthcare IT systems, quality assurance methodologies, and strong leadership skills to ensure that all systems are compliant, secure, and function efficiently.

What you'll do:




  • Lead and manage the quality assurance process for all health plan IT systems and software applications, ensuring they meet the required business and regulatory standards.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain QA processes and methodologies that align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements (e.g., CMS, HIPAA, Interoperability).



  • Design and execute test plans, including functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance tests (UAT).



  • Identify, document, and track defects, working closely with development teams to resolve issues promptly.



  • Monitor system performance and ensure data integrity, security, and accuracy of health plan information systems.

    IT Management:



  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of IT infrastructure and software applications that support health plan operations



  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify technology needs and provide innovative solutions.



  • Manage IT project lifecycles from requirement gathering to testing and deployment, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion.



  • Ensure the health plan's technology systems comply with industry standards, security protocols, and regulatory requirements.



  • Assist in the creation and enforcement of IT policies and procedures to ensure data security and business continuity.

    Team Leadership & Collaboration:



  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of QA analysts and IT professionals, fostering a collaborative, results-oriented environment.



  • Provide guidance on best practices for testing, quality assurance, and IT system management.



  • Work closely with internal stakeholders, including IT development , Operations, Compliance, BI, and Data Analytics teams, to ensure systems meet business requirements and regulatory standards.

    Reporting & Documentation:



  • Prepare and deliver reports on QA activities, system performance, and IT project statuses to senior management.



  • Document processes, test cases, and results, ensuring comprehensive and organized record-keeping.





What you'll bring:





  • 5+ years of experience in IT management, quality assurance, or systems testing, with at least 2 years in a healthcare setting.



  • Strong experience with QA methodologies, tools, and frameworks.



  • Proven experience working with health plan IT systems and applications (e.g., claims processing, member management, enrollment systems).



  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, CMS, and other applicable standards.



  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.



  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.



  • Proficiency in testing tools, defect tracking software, and project management software.



  • Knowledge of databases, SQL, IT Cloud technology and IT infrastructure.



  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.





Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Healthcare or Business Management

A Master's degree is preferred. Equivalent work experience may be substituted.

Salary Range: Minimum 40.65 per hour - Maximum 71.16 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
