PSC Group is currently seeking a full-time Railcar Repair Lead Technician to ensure all railcar mechanisms are operating properly and meet safety requirements. This position inspects all service equipment, parts, and materials. Work Schedule: Monday through Friday. Must be flexible to work overtime, and weekends if needed.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Performs and ensures work is performed in compliance to Quality Assurance Programs.
  • Performs and ensures work is performed in compliance to specifications and procedures.
  • Conducts incoming inspection of service equipment, parts, and material.
  • Identifies and records non-conformance.
  • Works with the Quality Assurance Coordinator to take corrective action to prevent recurrence of non-conformance.
  • Responsible to be knowledgeable of the Petroleum Service Corporation Quality Assurance Manual and all related publications and procedures.
  • Maintains a copy of all related publications and procedures.
  • Maintains Quality Records.
  • Works with Leadership and Quality Assurance Coordinator to meet requirements of the Quality Assurance Program.
  • Directs daily activities of the Railcar Repair Technician.
  • Obtains and maintains certification of Level II Bubble Leak testing.
  • Obtains and maintains certification of Level II Chemical Reactivity testing.
  • Completes any other duties that may be assigned to complete the job.


Job Qualifications / Skills / Abilities:



  • Ability to work safely around heavy equipment and on top of and under railcars, as well as around railroad tracks.
  • Must be able to obtain or possess a valid TWIC card and driver's license
  • Knowledge of machines and tools required to weld, cut and gouge
  • Perform / prioritize multiple tasks with attention to details.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions including basic blue prints and schematics.
  • Basic mechanical skills and the ability to read a tape measure
  • 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
  • Stable work history with good references from past employers
  • Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check
  • PSC is a veteran-friendly company. Previous military experience and proven ability to follow procedures is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

You must be able to:



  • Speak, write, read fluent English. Hear and have good vision.
  • Regular on-site attendance and punctuality is required
  • Work outside in environmental conditions which at times include extreme heat or extreme cold
  • Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) without restriction and pass any medical examination associated with the use of PPE
  • Lift 60 pounds floor to waist
  • Push and pull 30 pounds horizontally
  • Carry 20 pounds while walking
  • Climb stairs and ladders
  • Stand 8-12 hours per day
  • Extend arms through normal range of motion while standing and squatting
