Your responsibilities

The Segment Product Manager is responsible for product planning throughout the product lifecycle, driving the revenues in-line with growth expectations for the product segment. This position will continuously manage the product's position in the market, in terms of retail price and value perception. The Segment Product Manager will work closely with product development, sales and marketing teams to ensure they have adequate support and information to make informed decisions in line with the company goals for revenue and customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages the product segment through evaluation of competitors, vehicles in operation, and distribution channels
  • Defines the product application and technology mix required to continually meet market and revenue needs.
  • Delivers detailed reporting by segment and product family identifying areas of strength or weakness and the actions required as a result to improve sales volumes, revenues and margins.
    • Identify requirements for current and future products through detailed market analysis.
    • Report on what went right and wrong. Analysis at granular and macro level by material, segment, and customer versus budget/forecast. This is to be completed the first week of each month.
    • Create go-to-market plans for new products
    • Establish strategic partner relationships for product
    • Be an expert with respect to our product range in comparison with the competition and vehicles in the market.
    • Provide in-depth market/industry analysis
  • Monitors demand, forecast, and inventory levels
    • Provides quarterly forecasting data to materials management group.
    • Works directly with sales team to follow up on feedback received from customers.
    • Participates in Sales & Operations Planning process.
  • Ensures robust product content and catalog data is created and maintained.
    • Works closely with marketing to see that required content is generated and distributed.
    • Partners with catalog data providers to ensure accuracy and distribution.
  • Drives the development process for the right product in each category as defined through market research.

Your profile

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Successful track record of product management experience.
  • Automotive industry knowledge is a must with good technical understanding.
  • ACES and PIES experience required; must be extremely proficient at developing catalog data
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced team-oriented environment; apply critical thinking principles and remain flexible.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy with strong organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • SAP experience preferred.
  • Associates degree or Bachelor's degree preferred. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
