What part will you play?

This role will be responsible for the overall maintenance of the in-scope technologies, responding to system malfunctions, troubleshooting, and ensuring the systems are repaired or restored to full operation during events.

What will you be doing?

  • Lead the incident management process, ensuring that all system failures are addressed in a timely and efficient manner. Provide detailed reports on the nature of any issues, their resolution, and recommendations for future improvements.
  • Provide immediate troubleshooting and repair for any AV or broadcast-related system failure.
  • Provide live support during events to ensure all broadcast and AV systems function as intended. Troubleshoot and fix any issues with audio, video, or broadcasting equipment.
  • Proactively monitor broadcast equipment and AV systems during non-event periods to identify potential failures early. Run diagnostics for the following systems:

    • Broadcast Equipment: Monitor signal flow through Evertz routers and Analog Way switchers, checking for signal interruptions or loss.
    • General AV Systems: Perform diagnostic checks on all audiovisual equipment, identifying any early-stage issues.

  • When internal capabilities are exceeded, work closely with vendors to coordinate repair services for broadcast gear (e.g., Evertz, Ross Video) and AV systems. Ensure timely resolution of issues to minimize event disruptions.
  • Record all break/fix activities, issues encountered, repairs performed, and any parts replaced. Maintain detailed logs for future troubleshooting, vendor tracking, and system performance review.
  • While the role primarily focuses on break/fix, perform regular preventive maintenance tasks to ensure equipment stays in top working condition:

    • Test broadcast systems and AV equipment before each event to identify potential problems.
    • Check and verify configurations for Evertz broadcast systems, Q-SYS audio systems, and Samsung video walls.

  • After any fix or adjustment, conduct thorough testing to ensure all equipment is back to full functionality.
  • Work closely with event organizers and other production teams to ensure they are informed of any equipment issues and expected resolution times. Ensure minimal disruption during the event.
  • Oversee the synchronization and operation of cloud and on-prem systems, ensuring smooth integration with the CMS and other cloud-based solutions used for event production.
