JOB DESCRIPTION:

Student Responsibilities

  • Shadow family support specialists (FSS) and participate in visits within the family's home, lasting around an hour.
  • Partner with the FSS and families in honoring diverse family structures and parenting practices.
  • Activities may also include but are not limited to: administering the Family Resilience and Opportunities for Growth Scale (FROG) Scale; administering screening tools such as the ASQ, ASQ-SE, Depression Screens etc.; identifying and referring families for other supportive services, including health care services.
  • Assist in preparation of required monthly, quarterly and annual statistical reports.
  • Assist the family support specialist in maintain up-to-date and accurate records for families on GGK curriculum, HFA data, and other required records.
  • Participate in training according to requirements of HFA guidelines, GKI and DOH contract.
  • Attend trainings and other mandatory meetings.
  • Engage prospective families
  • Collaborate with potential referral sources

WORK SCHEDULE

  • Working hours are Monday-Friday between 8 A.M. and 5 P.M., Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. This position will be 32 hours per week.
  • Internship is a hybrid of remote and clinic setting at 230 E James Campbell Blvd. Suite 113, Columbia, TN 38401.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Working toward a Bachelor's degree in public health, social sciences, or related field
  • Interest in gaining experience working with children and their families
  • Demonstrated history of being able to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to work with data; detail-oriented
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be able to commit to 40 hours a week

If selected, students will be guided to fulfill a background check and provide five references as part of the Centerstone onboarding process.
