Responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software related to assigned software platforms. Responsible for systems both on premise and in cloud. Participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation. Engage with project and work teams on technical issues, research and development, technical analysis and design, and support. Identifies, troubleshoots and resolves problems under general supervision. This position is responsible for assigned systems within the specific role.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The System Engineer is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software related to assigned software platforms. Responsible for systems both on premise and in cloud. Participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation. Engage with project and work teams on technical issues, research and development, technical analysis and design, and support. Identifies, troubleshoots and resolves problems under general supervision. This position is responsible for assigned systems within the specific role.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:



  • Design, install, implement, administer, integrate, support, backup and restore images, and maintain designated systems
  • Responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and managing cloud-based systems on platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP, ensuring efficient data storage, security compliance, and smooth operation by utilizing programming skills, automation tools, and deep knowledge of cloud technologies to meet organizational needs
  • Provide upper level support by troubleshooting system related problems and coordinate with relevant team members and/or third party vendors regarding user support and problem resolution
  • Installing, configuring, and managing VPN gateways and related hardware/software on different platforms
  • Configure, install, move and support VoIP phone systems
  • Perform health assessment checks and/or support on local agency networks and provide recommendations for max performance and/or remediation
  • Collaborate on special projects
  • Research and make recommendations on future system upgrades.
  • Develop and maintain operational, installation, and configuration procedures.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
  • Five years systems engineer related experience.
  • Prior work experience with Cloud Systems (Azure, AWS, GCP).
