Position Type: Full-Time Class Category Faculty Job Open Date 12/18/2024 Job Close Date 01/12/2025 Open Until Filled Yes Initial Screen Date: 01/15/2025 Minimal Qualifications: Required: Master's degree in Biology Alternative Qualifications: Master's degree in any field with at least 18 graduate credit hours in a combination of the qualifying fields. Biology Biochemistry Microbiology Botany Virology Ecology Zoology Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: The following are preferred qualifications: Earned Doctorate from a regionally accredited university. Two years of teaching experience as lead instructor. Teaching experience in a community college and demonstrated interest in and passion for teaching community college students. Familiarity with federal/state safety regulations that impact biology laboratories. Familiarity and willingness to employ current pedagogical, instructional, and assessment methods in teaching college students. Demonstrated experience with utilizing a variety of classroom technologies, both inside and outside the classroom. Experience working with students from a diverse background. Ability to work well with others. Strong oral and written communication skills. Work Hours Normally scheduled Monday through Friday; may be required to work different shifts to include evenings and/or weekends. Schedule subject to change based upon department needs. Compensation Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Special Instructions to Applicants PLEASE NOTE: This position is contingent on budget-appropriated funding.
