Salary: The salary range for this position is $52,000 - $55,000

Position Summary
Support the Director of Undergraduate Student Recruitment in developing and executing a recruiting and marketing strategy for the undergraduate programs. This strategy is designed to attract top students and ensure that each incoming class meets the size, quality, diversity, and financial goals established by the school.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Actively recruit candidates for the school's programs by representing the College of Business Administration at high school visits, recruiting fairs, community college visits, campus events, information sessions, and webinars.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with students/parents, high school counselors, teachers, and administrators to provide pre-admission advice and counsel related to the recruitment and admissions processes.
  • Field questions and respond to inquiries from prospective students through various mediums (e.g. individual appointments, telephone, email and social networking.)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional program office projects and initiate new programming.
  • Actively participate in special events and program planning and implementation.
  • Represent the College of Business Administration on various committee and college-wide initiatives.
  • Interview candidates for the program and serve as an information resource for prospective candidates.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of recruitment strategies and make recommendations for program changes and enhancements.
  • Serve as an active member of the school's admissions committee.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

  • Minimum Qualifications

    • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree required. Master's Degree in business, higher education, college student personnel, or closely related field preferred.
    • A minimum of one year of experience in student counseling, admissions and/or UIC undergraduate campus involvement or leadership.
    • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills.
    • Demonstrated knowledge and sensitivity to working with diverse populations.
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.


    Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems and electronic mass communication management.
    • Experience with business students and curricula.
    • Knowledge of university admissions policies, practices, and trends.
    • Ability to take the initiative on issues, pay close attention to detail, employ good judgment and decision-making abilities, the ability to work under pressure.
    • Demonstrate strong customer service and interpersonal skills, a positive disposition, and be organized, resilient, and enthusiastic.
    • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
    • Previous experience using admissions CRMs and technologies such as Slate, PeopleSoft, Hobson's ApplyYourself, and/or Banner.
