Hill International is seeking an Office Engineer in Long Beach, California



  • Maintain organized and detailed design and construction files, project records and logs
  • Manage program document control process
  • Support the PM's as needed
  • Prepare correspondence and reports, much of which is confidential in nature
  • Compose non-routine correspondence from brief notes or verbal instructions and compose replies to routine correspondence on own initiative
  • Initiates drafts of replies to other correspondence or inquiries for review by PM's staff
  • Proofreads and/or reformats drafts of documents created by executives for spelling, grammar, and clarity of communication so that final correspondence is signature ready
  • Prepares meeting agenda, reports, files, and other materials for meetings including presentation support
  • Establishes and maintains follow-up files and confidential files for PM's
  • Supports team by performing tasks related to organization and strong communication
  • Initiates routine and non-routine reports as appropriate
  • Researches and compiles statistical information and related data, produces special or recurring reports, and completes special projects as assigned
  • Produces and distributes data in graphic, spreadsheet, or narrative format
  • Establishes and maintains databases as required
  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate


  • 2-5 years of experience or more, preferably on transportation projects
  • Bachelor's or Associates degree in Engineering, Construction Management Associates degree or other related field preferable
  • Must have a self-starter attitude with proactive, results-oriented focus; willing and capable to assume additional responsibilities
  • Strong written and oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are required
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multi-task, and maintain confidentiality required
  • Strong technical and Internet savvy is required, including knowledge of Microsoft Office, i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat and other additional software and databases used by the company as needed
  • Must be able to interface with a variety of people with different technical levels and educational backgrounds; must be detail-oriented and must be able to produce accurate and timely results while maintaining a positive customer-service attitude
  • Must possess a "can-do" attitude: able to produce consistently accurate results at a fast pace
  • Ability to work independently
  • Must work in Long Beach 3 days a week
  • This administrative position requires the incumbent to exercise good judgment in the execution of all duties and responsibilities.


The salary range for this position is $58,000 - $78,000. The offered salary will be based on the applicants qualifications, education, experience and work location.
