The University of Missouri is committed to expanding digital transformation efforts and delivering innovative and scalable cloud solutions. We are seeking a dynamic and versatile Cloud Solutions Architect to join our team. This role will blend strategic vision with hand-on implementation, working across departments to design, build, and optimize our cloud infrastructure. This position will play a crucial role in further shaping and refining our cloud strategy while executing on the technical implementation. This role requires a balance of high-level cloud architecture expertise with hand-on engineering and support skills. You will work closely with various teams to ensure that our cloud infrastructure is robust, secure, and efficient. Key Responsibilities will include: * Architectural Design: Develop and refine cloud architecture strategies and frameworks that align with the University's goals, with a focus on scalability, security, and cost-effectiveness. * Cloud Implementation: Deploy, configure, and optimize cloud solutions across Azure, AWS, or GCP as required by specific projects. * Automation & Infrastructure as Code: Implement and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation to streamline cloud provisioning and management. * Performance Optimization: Monitor, analyze, and improve cloud systems to ensure high availability and performance for critical applications. * Security & Compliance: Work with security and compliance teams to establish best practices and ensure adherence to data governance policies. * Collaboration & Support: Collaborate with DevOps, application development, and other IT teams to support cloud projects, troubleshoot issues, and enhance existing workflows. * Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Create and maintain detailed documentation of cloud infrastructure and share insights to help upskill the team. Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm Minimum Qualifications
5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure architecture and engineering roles. Vast knowledge and/or experience within cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, and/or GCP). Proven ability to translate functional needs and requirements into technical solutions. Experience with DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization. Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, Powershell) and proficiency with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools. Familiarity with cloud networking, security, and compliance best practices. Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders. Collaborative and adaptable mindset. Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field. Experience with multi-cloud and/or hybrid cloud environments. Understanding of FinOps and cost management practices in the cloud. Anticipated Hiring Range
