The Department of Oral Biology at the College of Dentistry, University of Illinois Chicago is seeking to fill a full-time position at the Assistant/Associate Professor level. The department is looking to leverage the College's existing strengths to advance oral, dental and craniofacial research.

The department seeks individuals with experience in conducting research in biomaterials, tissue engineering, craniofacial pathobiology, translational sciences, with special emphasis on oral dental, and craniofacial research areas. The candidate is expected to establish collaborations with both clinical and research faculty at the college as well as with faculty across the campus at UIC. With respect to teaching, the candidate is expected to develop and teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in for MS, PhD as well as residents. The candidate is expected to have a history of mentorship of graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and dental residents.

Eligible candidates are required to possess research expertise and doctoral degree (PhD) in one of the following research areas: biomaterials, materials sciences. engineering, microbiology, molecular biology, or equivalent. The candidate is expected to possess good postdoctoral training with an outstanding publication record. The candidate is expected to demonstrate a high likelihood for extramural funding. Preference will be given to dual trained clinician-scientists (i.e., holding a DDS, DMD, or equivalent degree, and a PhD degree) with a proven track record of funding or with existing extramural support for research.

The budgeted salary range for the position is $110,000 to $165,000. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity.
