Sanitation General Help will be responsible for responsible for maintaining cleanliness in assigned work areas throughout shifts, ensuring compliance with food safety standards, and fostering a safe working environment for all employees.

Role & Responsibilities


  • Effectively clean all assigned areas inside and outside the bread manufacturing plant, including equipment, machinery, and general grounds.
  • Utilize proper chemical usage, including spraying insecticides or other chemicals when necessary.
  • Adhere to food safety standards developed by H&S Bakery.
  • Follow instructions regarding work assignments and daily tasks.
  • Maintain a good attendance record.
  • Work in various environments, including wet or dusty conditions.
  • Proficiently use plant touch screens and follow CIP (Clean-in-Place) procedures.
  • Operate equipment such as pressure washers, chemical formers, electric floor machines, wet and dry vacuums.
  • Lift heavy bags and boxes, push carts weighing up to 500 lbs.
  • Read and understand labeling on cleaning products and sanitizers.
  • Demonstrate safe and proper use of cleaning tools, including squeegees, mops, brooms, hand and floor scrapers, paint brushes, and rollers.
  • Use ladders and/or lifts safely to clean overheads inside the bread manufacturing plant and silos outside.

Safety:


  • Maintain a safe working environment for all employees and contractors.
  • Participate in accident investigations.
  • Promote employee safety in all areas of operations.

Sanitation:


  • Ensure cleanliness of the work area.
  • Always follow proper Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).

Requirements & Physical Demands


  • Capable of moving to all areas of the bread manufacturing plant.
  • Able to reach, bend, stoop, climb, push, and pull as required in a production operation.
  • Capable of climbing ladders, crawling under equipment, and working in tight spaces.
  • Possess arm, hand, and finger dexterity to manipulate sanitation equipment and tools.
  • Able to stand for long periods with a normal range of motion in all extremities.
  • Capable of squatting, bending, and stooping for extended periods.
  • Able to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Able to wear protective clothing and equipment for extended periods.
  • Capable of generating clear and distinct written and verbal communications.
  • Read, comprehend, and practice necessary safety procedures, signs, etc.
