POST DOCTORAL FELLOW - Center for Intelligent Infrastructure #00088774

One post-doctoral fellow is sought to support big data, robotics, and digital twin initiatives in the Center for Intelligent Infrastructure (CII}. One of the CII goals is to build large-scale research and education digital platforms including 3D reconstruction and data-driven condition assessment of civil and power infrastructure, such as bridges, buildings, dams and levees, roads, and industrial plants. Digital platforms are also critical to advancing interactive ground-aerial mobility in rural and urban areas.

The successful candidate should be specialized in robotic perception, computer vision, simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM), sensor fusion, and machine learning. Sensors can be noncontact. such as robot-based thermal. hyperspectral light detection and ranging (liDAR), and sonar imaging systems, and in-situ, such as crack, corrosion. de-bonding, and scour depth measurement systems based on various physical and electrochemical principles.

The successful candidate is expected to work closely with several fulH1me CII technical staff members (https://cii.mst.edu/researchllaboratories/virtual/). CII is one of ten university research centers at Missouri University of Science and Technology. The CII staff members are trained in big data and information technology, civil and architectural engineering, computer science and engineering, and mechatronics and mechanical engineering.

$47,476 annually

COLLEGE of ENGINEERING & COMPUTING (CEC)
Missouri S&T's College of Engineering and Computing is the largest of three colleges at S&T, accounting for approximately 80% of the total enrollment (about 4,500 undergraduates and 800 graduate students).
