The candidate will contribute to the development process for complex photonic devices and systems-on-chip, namely via testing and analysis of photonic components and circuits at the wafer level and module level. As a member of our silicon photonics design team, you'll be working alongside other experienced silicon photonics designers with strong records of delivering innovative photonic device designs and large-scale silicon photonics circuits.
- Support the characterization of active and passive photonic devices and/or complex photonic integrated circuits and systems.
- Contribute to test development and lead the test data analysis of your devices to correlate design with measurements.
- Develop new test approaches and innovate on both wafter-level test and system-level test optimization and automation.
- Collaborate with all other functional teams in the organization to characterize and develop co-designed and co-optimized photonics systems.
You have:
- Experience with characterizing silicon photonic or other integrated optical/optoelectronic devices or circuits.
- Lab experience in optical engineering tests, fiber-waveguide coupling, and design verification testing.
- Solid numerical and physics-related programming skills (in Python or C/C++).
- Proficiency with optics design tools, such as Lumerical.
It would be nice if you had:
- Experience in photonic integrated circuit design, modeling, and layout.
- Strong understanding of general concepts in fiber optics and integrated optics, namely coherent or data communication systems.
- Experience with high-frequency/RF photonics design and modeling experience.
- Experience testing with high-speed RF characterization equipment such as VNAs, spectrum analyzers, AWGs, etc.
